Tina Koch has been the children's services coordinator at Green County Human Services since August. Before that, she was a special education aide at Black Hawk school.
As children's services coordinator, Koch works with children with developmental disabilities. She sets them up in the "Birth to Three" program and on children's waivers.
Koch said the most rewarding part of her job is when she can transition a child out of the Birth to Three program because they've reached their goals and no longer have a "delay."
The most difficult part is when a child with needs has to be put on a waiting list. The department helps about 60 kids, and most are in the program until they are out of school, some at the age of 21.
Koch said some of the waiting lists are years long.
