People You Should Know: Jim Moldenhauer

Moldenhauer is one of the Green County Sheriff Department's newest full-time dispatchers.

Still in his three months of training, Moldenhauer will be on his own starting the end of May. He will take 9-1-1 and information calls and dispatch police, firefighters and EMS workers.

County dispatchers also take care of paperwork, such as entering, updating and accessing warrants. They work six days a week, with two or three days off in between.

Moldenhauer calls dispatching a career leap for him. After working in warehouses since high school, Moldenhauer joined the New Glarus Fire Department in 2005, which he said got him interested in the emergency service field to help the public.

His favorite pastime, hunting, has taken second place now to his new job.

Moldenhauer resides in New Glarus with his wife Chris and their three-month-old son, Zach.
