Jacob Scherer has owned Monroe One Hour Cleaners Inc. for a year, but he's no stranger to the dry cleaning business.

Scherer worked for former owner Tom Koeller for 32 of the 33 years Koeller owned the business, located at the corner of Ninth Street and 16th Avenue.

He started while in high school, vacuuming, cleaning and making hangers. After a couple years, he moved up to pressing clothes.

As the only dry cleaner in Green County, Scherer stays busy, with Mondays and Tuesdays being the most hectic. Scherer says he tries to get cleaning done in an hour as much as possible.

If you could have one superpower for a day, what would it be?

Flying. Just the view is always so fantastic from up there.

What is your greatest fear?

All-out world war

If you could be granted three wishes, what would they be?

World peace, end world hunger and end illiteracy

What is something you've always wanted to do but haven't yet?

Travel to Australia. I've seen it in travel logs and it looks beautiful. It would be a neat place to go.
