People You Should Know: Gerald Pelitier
1932a.jpg
Gerald Pelitier will retire this year after teaching high school and middle school math and science at the Monticello School District since 1974.

Pelitier has taught at least two generations of students, and remembers Jenny Fahrney as the first of his second-generation students.

He also performs with The Word of Life music team, which has cut two CDs.

Pelitier moved from Monticello to Madison in 1980. At the time, it seemed like a good idea, he said, because he drove to church three times a week and there were several people who commuted from Madison.

He married his college sweetheart, Cathy, and they have two sons and a daughter, who all got married the same year. They now have six grandchildren.
