People You Should Know: Callie Matzke
5156a.jpg
Matzke has spent seven years working in the Children's Room at the Monroe Public Library.

She began while a student at Juda High School as a page just putting books away, but that job led her to five years as a library assistant during the summers. Matzke said the library is a great place to work - where she got paid to color and read books. She also said it has been a good experience for going into education.

As a library assistant, Matzke helps children sign up for the library summer programs, answers people's questions, and help readers find whatever they need. Matzke will graduate this December from UW-Whitewater with a degree in music education, after which she wants to find a job in the area teaching music.
