MONROE - PDC Electrical Contractors, Monroe, was recently awarded with a 2011 Projects of Distinction Award from the Associated Builders and Contractors of Wisconsin.

Their project, The Foremost Farms USA Plant Remodel, Appleton, won the Gold Projects of Distinction Award in the Electrical over $1 million category.

The Projects of Distinction Awards Program recognizes the most distinct construction projects in Wisconsin.

"To win an award, our members must be safe, skilled and highly trained. These awards are truly earned and all of our members can be proud of the winners," said Chris Reinhart, marketing director for ABC of Wisconsin.

Project entries were evaluated by an independent panel of construction experts. Winning projects were eligible for entry in ABC's National Excellence in Construction Awards Program.

PDC has also been awarded the 2011 Gold Safety Training and Evaluation Process Award for Safety from ABC of Wisconsin. The STEP Award is given to contractors in recognition of their achievements and ongoing efforts in the development of a quality safety program.

"The heart of our safety program is our safety committee, which has developed a safety culture with which all or our employees have embraced and practice daily," said Gene Jacobson, president of PDC.
