Fall and Winter Pickleball League continues on Wednesdays until April 8. Participants can drop in at any time to play as teams switch every week. Games are at Parkside Gym at 6:30 p.m. Cost is $10. Brian Saugstad is the supervisor.
Fitness Fun, Games and Tumbling is a night filled with fitness and games. The active hour is for boys and girls ages 4 through 8. Classes are held from 6 to 6:45 p.m. Mondays in the gym at Northside Elementary. Classes begin Nov. 3 and end Dec. 15. The cost is $25 for residents and $35 for non-residents.
Ronin Karate Fall Tournament is Saturday, Nov. 8 at Monroe High School. Registrations is at 9 a.m., Black Belt Judges' Meeting is at 9:30 a.m., and the tournament starts at 10 a.m. Black Belt Demonstrations will begin at 12:30 p.m. Registration cost is $35. A family rate of $100 is available for four members and a family rate of $120 for five through six members. Spectators are free.
Monroe Middle School Dance Team registration is now through Wednesday. The cost is $15 and includes a shirt. Practices will be from 2:25 to 4 p.m. Mondays. Practice dates are Nov. 10, Nov. 17, Dec. 1, Dec. 8 and Dec. 15. Performances at eighth-grade boys basketball games will be on Tuesdays: Dec. 2, Dec. 9, Dec. 16.
Indoor Soccer at Abraham Lincoln Gym is for middle and high school students to work on skills and drills and play some games. Open gym is 4:15 to 5:15 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. The gym will be available Tuesday through March 5. The cost is $10 for Tuesdays and $10 for Thursdays.
A new session of Karate will begin Dec. 2 and continue through Feb. 26. Classes are Tuesdays and Thursdays at Behring Senior Center. Youth, ages 7 through 12, class times are 6:15 to 7:15 p.m. Adult, ages 13 and older, class times are 7:15 to 8:30 p.m. Cost is $40 for residents and $50 for non-residents.
Boot Camp Blast exercise class will begin a new session Dec. 30 and continue through March 9. Class dates and times include 5:15 to 6 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays and 8:30 to 9:15 a.m. Saturdays. The class is held at Behring Senior Center. The cost for attending two times per week is $45 for residents and $55 for non-residents. The cost for attending three times per week is $60 for residents and $70 for non-residents.
Winter Basketball Skills with the Cheesemakers is away brush up on some skills and play with the Monroe Cheesemaker players. The second- and third-graders will be together at Lincoln Elementary and fourth- through sixth-graders will be together at the high school. Practices are on Mondays, starting Jan. 12 and ending Feb. 16. Practices are from 2:30 to 4 p.m. at the high school gym. The players can ride the bus over to the high school. All buses go to the high school.
Winter Dance Classes will start again on Feb. 23 and end April 27. Classes are held at the Community Center. Ballet Blitz I is 5:30 to 6 p.m. for all new 3- and 4-year-olds. Ballet Blitz II is 6:05 to 6:35 p.m. for children who have instructor approval and have had at least one class as a 4-year-old. Ballet III is 6:40 to 7:10 p.m. for ages 5 through 7 with instructor approval. Pop class is 7:15 to 7:40 p.m. for 7- through 12-year-olds. There will be no classes during spring break and spring election.
