Ordinance bans residents from leaving debris, refuse in street

MONROE - Residents of the City of Monroe are reminded that it is against city ordinance to deposit refuse or debris, which includes grass clippings, leaves, dirt and limbs, into the street. When it rains, the debris is washed into the storm inlets causing back-ups or running into streams. Leaf collection in the fall is the only time leaves are permitted to be placed in the gutter.
