MONROE - Orchid International, Monroe, will receive $100,000 from a National Emergency Grant to retrain 30 displaced workers at its Monroe facility.

The company announced Wednesday that it is working with General Motors to produce an electrical motor for a 2013 sports utility vehicle.

Three or four workers will be hired immediately, said Keith Cornacchia, director of Orchid's lamination group. The remaining workers will be hired in 2012.

The grant is part of a federal program coordinated by the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development and the regional Workforce Development Boards.
