ORANGEVILLE - A rural Orangeville man was killed Thursday from injuries received in a farm accident at 10513 N. Henderson Road, according to the Stephenson County Sheriff's Dept.
Edward Lambert, 94, died as a result of the 6:40 p.m. accident, when the tractor on which he was working rolled over him, police said.
The tractor, a D17 Allis-Chalmers, accidentally started while Lambert was standing in front of the rear wheel and "in the process of disconnecting an implement," police said.
Shortly after the incident, Adam Lambert, the victim's son, ran to his father's aid, called for help, and waited for an ambulance to arrive, police said.
The elder Lambert died at St. Anthony's Medical Center in Rockford, after being flown there by emergency helicopter.
