Orangeville man arrest for child pornography
Clint J Oakes

ORANGEVILLE — On October 28, the Stephenson County Sheriff’s Office Investigations Division and members of the Illinois Attorney General’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force executed a search warrant at a residence in the 1600 block of E. St. James Road in rural Orangeville, Illinois, as part of an investigation that was initiated on Sept. 18.

While the search warrant was being executed, Clint Oakes, age 26, of Orangeville, was located without incident at a different location in Wisconsin. Following a review of the case by the Stephenson County State’s Attorney’s Office later that morning, an arrest warrant was obtained for Oakes for 10 counts of Dissemination of Child Pornography with Moving Depictions of Persons Under the Age of 13 (Class X felony), and two counts of Duty to Report as a Sex Offender (Class 3 Felony).

Oakes was taken into custody without incident the following day by members of the Stephenson County Sheriff’s Office Crime Suppression Unit and is currently being held without bail at the Stephenson County Jail, according to Sheriff Steve Stovall’s office. The investigation remains active and additional criminal charges are possible.

“The Stephenson County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the Illinois Attorney General’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and the Stephenson County State’s Attorney’s Office for their assistance with this investigation,” Stovall said.
