MONROE — A Brodhead man sustained severe injuries in a motorcycle crash near Brodhead at about 6:30 p.m. Thursday, May 30, according to the Green County Sheriff’s Office.

Matthew J. Bremer, 48, was taken by Brodhead EMS to Mercyhealth Hospital and Trauma Center in Janesville.

His passenger on the motorcycle, 28-year-old Diana G. Baade of Brodhead, sustained minor injuries and was transported by Orfordville EMS to the same hospital ER.

Bremer and Baade were not wearing helmets.

The accident happened in the N3700 block of County E, Town of Decatur, with the Brodhead Fire Department responding to assist deputies on scene. Bremer was southbound when he failed to negotiate a curve in the road, causing the motorcycle to overturn onto its left side, Sgt. Allen Peters reported.

Bremer was cited for operating a motorcycle without a valid license.
