• Passed a resolution asking the state to pay at least $39.1 million to counties across the state for nursing homes. The resolution also asks the state to share the federal money it receives from the bed taxes with counties. Herb Hanson, chairman of the Green County Pleasant View Nursing Home Committee, said the county would receive extra money every year if the state returned the money it received from the federal government to Pleasant View. Hanson wasn't able to provide a specific amount the county would receive, but said any amount would help the county pay for the nursing home.

A similar resolution will be passed by other county boards across the state to ask the Legislature to make the changes.

• Heard an annual report from Carol Thompson, Green County clerk of courts. Thompson said there were about 1,300 more court filings in 2009 than in 2008. In 2009, there were 8,446 case filing with the clerk of courts' office, compared to 7,124 in 2008. The majority of the cases were traffic cases, which increased from 4,372 in 2008 to 5,525 in 2009.
