New officers, director welcomed at meeting

MONROE - The annual meetings of the YMCA and the YMCA Foundations were held on Wednesday, at Wisconsin Community Bank.

This was the 29th annual meeting of the YMCA and the 24th annual meeting of the YMCA Foundation.

Speaking for the YMCA Foundation, Paul Voegeli, YMCA Foundation board president, said the foundation grew at a rate similar to the general financial markets, 3.77 percent, and that the YMCA Foundation was able to contribute $10,000 to the YMCA's "Strong Kids" campaign.

Eric Benzschawel, outgoing president, reported a very positive year for the YMCA both financially and in its programs.

Benzschawel recognized outgoing board members including, Kevin Callahan, Bob Erb, Dave Flynn, Rod Hesgard, Brian Knutson, Bill Morgan, Craig Newcomer, Claire O'Dea, Tyler Peters, Skip Brennan and Mike Starck.

Bryan Rach was elected 2010 board president; Kevin Indergand, vice president; Sherri Hendrickson, secretary; and Scott Denure, treasurer. Benzschawel will serve as past president.

Rach urged the board to continue to serve the YMCA mission in Green County. Rach also urged all board members and YMCA members to welcome Aaron Phillips the new YMCA director Monday.
