NEW GLARUS - The New Glarus Police Department assisted the FBI with an arrest June 11 of a New Glarus woman.

Yazaida Perez, 23, was arrested by the FBI for federal computer crimes which took place in New Jersey.

New Glarus Police Chief Steve Allbaugh said the Madison FBI office contacted his department to confirm that Perez lived and worked in New Glarus.

"We were able to determine that she worked in New Glarus and we were able to find out the times she worked," Allbaugh said.

According to a criminal complaint filed in the United States District Court in New Jersey, Perez was arrested for using a computer in June 2007 to set up sexual encounters between a teenage girl and adult men.

At the time, the juvenile was living with Perez in Pleasantville, N.J.

The complaint says Perez provided the name, address, and e-mail account of the female on the MySpace Web site.
