Musical family brings old-time tour to Monroe

MONROE - The Walker Family from Branson, Mo., will put their high-energy music on display at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, at the Monroe High School Performing Arts Center.The Walker Family features 1950s and 1960s hits, country, traditional, bluegrass and old-time music, as well as original songs. Brett and Apryll Walker and their seven children have played all over the U.S. for the past five years. Their journey began in 2007, when after spending about a year playing throughout Alaska, the family agreed to pursue performing their music on a full-time basis.
