JANESVILLE - Four new charges were filed Tuesday against an Orfordville man suspected in a series of burglaries throughout Rock and Green counties.

Brandon E. Kinder, 26, was charged with receiving stolen property and three counts of felony bail jumping for breaking into a house on the 11000 block of West Beloit Newark Road, Beloit. The Rock County Sheriff's Office has investigated at least 19 burglaries since the beginning of July, issuing an alert July 21 asking for information from the public.

Kinder and his cousin Matthew A. Kinder, 22, were arrested and charged with breaking into a Brodhead home July 21. Court Commissioner Stephen Meyer ruled Tuesday there was enough evidence to try Brandon Kinder in connection with the Brodhead burglary.

Rock County Sheriff detective Brian Meister spoke in court Tuesday and said Matthew Kinder told him Brandon Kinder stopped at the home in Brodhead, took several items, sped away from the home when the two were discovered in the back yard and told Matthew to "keep his mouth shut" when they were pulled over by police.

Brandon Kinder faces more than 57 burglary-related charges across Rock, Walworth and four other Wisconsin counties. Assistant District Attorney Mary Bricco said he might face more charges as police continue to sort through property taken from his residence.

Brandon Kinder does not have a job and lives with his girlfriend and their child, according to a criminal complaint. When police questioned his girlfriend about the large amount of property at their residence, she told police Kinder is a "wheeler and dealer." She also told police she believed some of the property might be stolen.

Brandon Kinder remains in custody on $53,600 cash bond. He is scheduled to appear in court again 9:15 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 10 for a preliminary hearing on the Beloit burglary charges.

Kinder also will be in court at 8 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 11, for his arraignment on the Brodhead burglary.
