Fred and Mary Gill-Schultz with Mary's sisters Hannah and Anna Gill walk the railroad tracks to Monticello. Fred and Mary had a country store and post office at their home at Schultz Crossing which was at the intersection of today's Harper and Gutzmer roads and the Badger State bicycle trail southwest of Monticello. Their store provided groceries and dry goods to area families, including Dutch Hollow farmers. The rail-stop provided transportation for passengers and farm produce. Hannah and Anna Gill, sisters of Mary Schultz, had a professional photo studio at 421 N. Adams St., Monroe.
