The congregation of St. John’s United Church of Christ (1724 14th Street, Monroe) extends an invitation to its 9 a.m. worship service this Sunday, Oct. 8, when it will celebrate the 100th anniversary of its sanctuary and dedicate its recently replaced roof.
St. John’s was founded in 1862, and its present building was dedicated Sunday, Oct. 7, 1923. All are invited.
“We look forward to a day filled with great memories, special music, good fellowship and dreams for the future,” wrote Mitch Quade, President of the St. John’s Church Council in a letter to the congregation.
