MONROE — On July 29, 2025 the Green County Sheriff’s Office was notified that the driver of the pickup truck had died as a result of her injuries sustained in the motor vehicle crash on July 26.
The driver was identified as Amanda L. Parsons, 43 of Monroe.
Parsons was northbound on Tucker Road approximately 1/4 mile west of County N in the Town of Washington when she lost control while negotiating a curve. The pickup truck left the roadway and collided with a tree in the west ditch. Parsons was the lone occupant of the vehicle, was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and the airbags did deploy.
The Sheriff’s Office Communication Center was notified at 7:50 p.m. via a 911 call of the accident. Deputies immediately responded to the scene along with Monticello Fire Department and Green County EMS.
Parsons sustained life threatening injuries and was flown from the scene by UW-Med Flight to UW-Hospital.
The crash remains under investigation at this time. Alcohol use is a contributing factor in the crash.
This is the fifth traffic fatality in Green County for 2025.
