MONROE — A young mother was arrested following an operation on Wednesday, April 1 in Monroe.
According to Monroe Police Chief Fred Kelley, at approximately 9:10 a.m. on April 1, Monroe Police Detectives and Officers, and a State Line Area Narcotics Task Force Inspector, executed a search warrant in the 200 block of 4th Avenue regarding a Drug Endangered Child Investigation.
“The search resulted in the seizure of numerous suspected MDMA (methylenedioxymethamphetamine-Ecstasy) pills and other drug paraphernalia,” Kelley said. Subsequently, Haylee M. McGinnis, 22, of Monroe, was arrested.
McGinnis is charged with Child Neglect, Possession with Intent to Deliver Schedule 1 & 2 Narcotics, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Maintaining a Drug Dwelling. McGinnis was confined at the Green County Jail pending a court appearance.
Monroe Police Detectives worked with Green County Human Services to arrange a responsible person and safe place for an involved 2-year-old child to be sheltered.
