Monroe spared worst of weather

Times photo: Jim Winter Skies were foreboding Saturday afternoon in Green County, but the worst of the weather, including tornadoes and up to tennis-ball-sized hail, stayed north in Dane and Columbia counties.
MONROE - Severe weather which produced tornadoes in Dane and Columbia counties spared Green County.

There were two reports of power lines arcing or sparking Saturday evening, one on 10th Avenue in New Glarus and another in a wooded area in Cadiz Springs Road near Browntown.

The National Weather Service has a tornado watch in place for Green and Lafayette counties until 3 a.m. Sunday.
