MONROE - At a meeting Monday, Sept. 22, the Monroe school board:
• Recognized Melissa Holland, Monroe High School special education, for the September Lamp of Learning Staff Excellence Award.
• Accepted donations: $500 and a Buddy Bench from Monsignor Thomas F. Campion Special Project Fund; school supplies from Swiss Colony Bakery Booster Group; music stands for Monroe Middle School from Greg Anderson; and school supplies from Anytime Fitness.
• Approved one student's request to attend the Monroe school district and the requests of two students to leave the district.
• Appointed Daniel Harrigan, Susan Jevens and Catherine Timm to the Public Library Board of Trustees.
