Recognized Jennifer Neuenschwander, early childhood teacher at Parkside Elementary School, with the district's monthly Lamp of Learning Staff Excellence Award. Neuenschwander was honored for the positive attitude and the warm, caring personality she demonstrates to staff and students.
Recognized Monroe Excellence in Education 2014 grants. Grant winners were: Teens Against Bullying Others, Monroe High School, $1,000; Yearbook/MBook, MHS, $931; Spalding Phonics Easy Readers, Northside Elementary School, $786; Project Read, Northside, $500; Rockin' Readers, elementary reading teachers, $1,250; School to Home, elementary reading teachers, $2,500; Markerbot 3D Printer/Replicator, Monroe Middle School, $1,400; Breakfast Buddies, Abraham Lincoln, $350; Science with Vernier, MHS, $658; Art+Science=STEM, MMS, $560; Courage Retreat, MMS, $1,500; Book Love, MMS, $500; and Outstanding Educator Award, Sherri Hendrickson, $500.
