Monroe School Board: July 26, 2011

On Monday, July 25, the Monroe School Board:

- Approved the resignation of Mike Schmidt, Parkside Elementary, third grade;

- Approved hiring Alexander Schutz, Parkside Elementary, third grade;

- Approved hiring Bridget Zach, Northside Elementary, fifth grade;

- Approved hiring Katie Landmark, English, Monroe Middle School;

- Approved hiring Jessica Lepak, counselor, Monroe Middle School;

- Approved hiring Brenda Seagreaves, English, Monroe Middle School;

- Learned of a new, private consulting venture being formed by Joe Monroe, director of pupil services, and Chelsea Grinvalsky, elementary school psychologist. The firm, Monroe Educational Consultants, will work with other districts on a number of issues, especially Response to Intervention (RTI) implementation for special needs students. Monroe said no work from the business was done on district time, and that the venture will provide help to other districts looking for improved outcomes for students with learning and other disabilities; and,

- Set its next regular meeting date for Aug. 8.
