In a Monroe Board of Education meeting Monday, July 22, the school board:
- Approved the $37,445.08 purchase of two 30-laptop mobile labs from Computer Discount Warehouse. Each mobile laptop lab costs $18,722.54. One will be used with Monroe Area Alternative Charter School and virtual school students, and the other will be used at the high school. One lab is being paid for by the district's budget for the charter and virtual school, and the other lab is being funded by the high school's budget.
- Hired David Kazda as a special education teacher at the high school.
- Approved the resignation of Donna Tremble, an aide at Northside Elementary School.
- Approved a leave of absence request by Chad Cassidy, a high school math teacher. MHS Principal Chris Medenwaldt said there are 24 applicants with whom he is conducting interviews for the one-year position.
- Honored district bookkeeper Heather Siedschlag with the Monroe Lamp of Learning Staff Excellence award for July.
