MONROE - At a meeting Monday, July 28, the Monroe school board:
Decided to move forward with filling the cracks on the Monroe High School tennis courts this summer. The cost is expected to be between $7,000-$10,000.
Approved the purchase of two-way radios from Communications Service for $28,152 to be paid from the long-term maintenance account.
Accepted donations: $300 from Optimist Club of Monroe; $250 from Hedeman Real Estate; $500 from Monroe Kiwanis Club; and $500 from Woman's Club of Monroe, all to go toward the Buddy Benches program; and $1,500 from Jacob's SWAG Foundation to go toward Youth Frontiers Retreats.
Approved the retirement of Lynn Phillipps, Monroe Middle School EBNA aide.
Went into closed session to discuss a personnel contract issue.
