MONROE - During a meeting Monday, the City of Monroe Public Safety Committee:
Recommended to council to adopt traffic signs, signals and speed zones along Wisconsin 69 from First Street north to city limits and along Wis. 81 and Wis. 11 from Wis. 59 west to 10th Avenue West. Police Chief Fred Kelley called the actions "housekeeping" that stem from annexations, and said the resolutions will allow city police officers to enforce the traffic laws and issue tickets under the city code. No changes in the speed limits or signs were made.
Recommended to council to restrict parking in the vicinity of 16th Street and Ninth Avenue.
