MONROE - In a meeting Monday, the City of Monroe Public Safety Committee: • Discussed a request by a resident to restrict parking in the area of Ninth Avenue and 16th Street. Police Chief Fred Kelley verified that temporary workers have been parking too close to driveways, fire hydrants and the intersection. During winter snows, parking on both sides of the street also creates a passage of less that 20 feet, too narrow for two vehicles to pass.
