MONROE — Police are looking for five suspects in a burglary of a Monroe business over the weekend.
Five unknown people broke into an enclosed area of Monroe Powersports, 2820 County DR, sometime between 11 p.m. and 11:45 p.m. Friday, Aug. 2, according to an investigation by the Monroe Police Department.
A 2019 Polaris Outlaw 50 youth-sized all-terrain vehicle was stolen. The same people are also suspected of taking a full-sized ATV from Monroe Powersports and then abandoning it in the N3300 block of Wis. 59, a short distance from the business.
Damage to the wiring of six other ATVs and utility terrain vehicles at the business was also discovered, indicating an apparent attempt to steal those as well.
The burglary was reported to police at 10:38 a.m. the following morning.
Police are following leads in the case and asking anyone with information on the crime to call the police department at 608-329-2400, or by anonymously submitting a tip via Green County Crimestoppers at 800-422-7463 (1-800-IC-CRIME).
