MONROE - A Monroe man was sentenced Tuesday to 18 months of probation on charges of trespassing and disorderly conduct.
Anthony Michael Arndt, 18, Monroe, pleaded no contest to misdemeanor counts of disorderly conduct and trespassing and had three Class H felony counts of child abuse, false imprisonment and strangulation dismissed as part of a plea agreement.
Arndt was charged in October 2016 after an incident Oct. 19 when he entered a Monroe residence without the residents' permission.
According to a police report, Arndt entered a teenage girl's bedroom and waited for her to enter. When she did, she threatened to tell her mother of Arndt's presence, but Arndt pinned her against her bed, covering her nose and mouth and placing a hand on her throat in a vain attempt to prevent her from screaming.
When police arrived, Arndt was also found with a box cutter on his person.
As part of the terms of Arndt's probation, Green County Circuit Judge James Beer ordered that Arndt have no contact with the victim, any member of her immediate family or their residence.
In addition, Arndt will be required to undergo any counseling recommended by his probation agent.
