MONROE - A Monroe man was found dead in his pickup truck in a field off Wisconsin 11 on Tuesday morning, the Green County Sheriff's Department reports.
Walter L. Ishmon, 48, Monroe, was found dead this morning by sheriff's deputies. The Green County Sheriff's Communication Center received a call at 7:35 a.m. Tuesday from an area resident advising that a pickup truck was in a field next to Wisconsin 11, west of Monroe, and the occupant appeared to be deceased. Roderick said it appeared the vehicle had been in the field for several hours before it was discovered.
There was no apparent damage to the vehicle and no physical signs of a cause of death. Preliminary investigation indicates the vehicle was westbound when it drifted off the roadway into a cornfield.
An autopsy was performed in Madison, which indicated there were no signs of physical trauma, and the cause of death is pending the results of toxicology analysis, according to a Green County Sheriff's Department news release.
