MONROE - A Monroe man was jailed early Saturday on charges of battery to an officer and drunk driving, according to the Green County Sheriff's Department.
Allen S. Bechtolt, 30, faces a Class H felony charge of attempted battery to a law enforcement officer, two Class A misdemeanor counts of resisting an officer and a Class B misdemeanor count of disorderly conduct.
His signature bond was set Monday in Green County Circuit Court at $3,000, with conditions that he not drink, consume any controlled substances, drive, or enter bars or liquor stores.
Bechtolt was arrested during a traffic stop at 2:36 a.m. Saturday on West 8th Street at 6th Avenue West.
The citation for driving under the influence of alcohol is a first-offense charge. He was also cited for driving with a suspended driver's license and for having incorrectly colored front-clearance lights on his vehicle.
A preliminary hearing in the case is scheduled for Sept. 10 before Judge James Beer.
