MONROE - The Friends of the Monroe Public Library will host a ribbon cutting and reception to celebrate the conclusion of the first phase of the library's interior renovations from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 19.
Recent improvements include a rearranged first floor, a new look for the children's help desk area, additional storage, paint throughout the library, new shelving for audio and video materials, powered tables designed for laptop use and new furniture throughout the building.
Refreshments will be served. The ribbon cutting will take place at 5:45 p.m.
A substantial portion of the donated funds used for the project came from the estate of Marion Deppeler.
