Monroe Fund awards 2020 grants

MONROE — Several grants were awarded recently from The Monroe Fund; Reasa Charitable Fund; Dr. Fred W. and Alice J. Kundert Charitable Fund; Reasa Historic Preservation Fund; The CLAIRE Fund and The Thomas F. Campion Charitable Fund.

This brings the year to date total over $697,000 with 485 grants awarded.

Clifford and Dorothy Reasa Charitable Fund: City of Monroe, Park and Recreation, projects; Family Promise of Green County, homeless prevention/shelter diversion project.

Reasa Fund for Historic Preservation: Monroe Arts Center, concert hall roof repair; Turner Hall of Monroe, roof repair.

Thomas F. Campion Charitable Fund: Monroe Arts Center, Monsignor Campion Youth Art Gallery support.

Fred and Alice Kundert Charitable Fund: Green County Family YMCS, AED.

Monroe Fund: Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Green County, school and community program; Main Street Monroe, downtown project support; Rainbow Childcare of Monroe Inc., educator laminator; Sexual Assault Recovery Program, school feminine hygiene initiative; Monroe Arts Center, MAC support; Jacob’s SWAG, Got Your Back App. 

Compeer Financial, Ray and Betty Stamm Charitable Fund and the Monroe Fund: a special grant was awarded to the United Way of Green County COVID-19 Relief Fund in the amount of $11,750.

The Funds are components of the Community Foundation of Southern Wisconsin, a non-profit public foundation serving nine southern Wisconsin counties. A wide array of interests, including the arts, education, recreation, heath care, human services, social services, historic preservation and housing needs, have benefited from these grants which assist Monroe residents in all age groups, from the very young to the young at heart.
