MONROE - During a meeting Tuesday, the Finance and Taxation Committee:

• Passed a recommendation to City Council to approve $35,000 from TID No. 7 funds for the Historic Preservation Commission be made available for facade grants for the remainder of this year. Member Dan Henke abstained from discussion and voting based on a conflict of interest.

• Recommended to council, on a 3-1 vote, a procedure to approve expenditures over $25,000 from capital accounts be approved by council, after the Board of Public Works approval. Alderman Charles Koch voted against the motion.

• Discuss and voted not to authorize a procedure and implement fees for completion of special assessment and property information forms by city staff. Copying and faxing fee schedules will be set at a later date.
