MONROE - Monroe Clinic announced that the Joint Commission has named it a "2013 Top Performer."
The recognition was reserved for the top third of the 3,300 accredited hospitals the Joint Commission evaluates. Monroe Clinic is one of only two hospitals in the region to earn "top performer" designation. Monroe Clinic exhibited excellence in areas of heart attack, pneumonia and surgical care.
As the leading accreditor of U.S. health care organizations, the Joint Commission is known in the health care community for its measurement and evaluation of evidence-based practices (actions proven to result in better patient outcomes and safety).
