MONROE - In a meeting Monday, the City of Monroe Board of Public Works:
- Approved bills from Whitney Tree Service for $4,890 for tree trimming and removal; and from MSA for $2,440 for stormwater quality master plan.
- Reviewed quotes and authorized purchase of waste oil furnace for $6,550, with trade-in, from DSI Recycling System Inc.
- Reviewed quotes and authorized a purchase of $21,000 from Charles Dearth GMC to replace a 96-foot, one-ton dump truck.
- Reviewed quotes and authorized a purchase of $23,000 from Sloan Implement to replace a tractor, mowing deck, snow blower and cab.

- Chief Fred Kelley introduced the Monroe Police Department 2010 annual report. The report will be presented Tuesday to the Common Council.
- Discussed parking complaints around 6th Street and 18th Avenue. Police officers were asked to address parking violations in the area until other options can be found.
- Discussed suggestion for stop signs on 23rd Street at 8th Avenue. A study of the intersection will be conducted.
