MONROE - In a meeting Tuesday, Feb. 4, the City of Monroe Common Council:

• Confirmed by unanimous vote the mayoral appointment of Gerald Ellefson to the Housing Authority Board of Commissioners for a term to end on January 31, 2019.

• Voted unanimously to pass the consent agenda, which included $1.04 million to pay bills and granted miscellaneous licenses.

• Voted unanimously to hire Ryan Lindsey as the replacement building inspector/zoning administrator.

• Voted 8-1 to approve budget transfers and account carry-overs from 2012 to 2013. Such transfers normally occur after the annual audit, which was delayed last year. Included in the listing of transfers was $49,000 remaining parking ramp budgeted money; $100,000 remaining Cheese Days budgeted money; $5,250 to the senior center building fund capital account; $20,000 to contract with CIVIC for cash reconciliation and on-site training session; and $417,000 from the old, self-funded, health insurance account to cover 2013 surcharges for admission into the state-run health insurance.

• Approved Stephanie Bachim, Tammy Derrickson and Jon Rufenacht as authorized signatories on two certificates of deposit for senior center money.

• Voted 5-4 to approve up to $90,000 for furnishings and office equipment for the new water utilities' administration offices.



MONROE - In a meeting Tuesday, Feb. 4, the City of Monroe Salary and Personnel:

• Approved revisions to the City of Monroe organization chart, which would align the water/wastewater division under the director of public works, with a water/wastewater supervisor directly overseeing the water admonition office, an accounting manager and two lead operators under whom would be other-classified water utility operators.

• Approved revising the organizational chart to align the building and zoning department under the oversight of the city clerk office.
