MONROE - In a meeting Tuesday, the Finance and Taxation Committee:
Authorized the Engineering Department to purchase two design software licenses at a cost of $12,200. The new licenses will increase the compatibility of the city mapping programs used on several of the department's computer systems.
Discussed the possibility of Phil Rath, city administrator, and city staff performing the work for a TID 7 amendment rather than hiring outside firm. Rath and Rex Ewald, city attorney, recommended using an outside firm for the amendment, which is needed for a senior housing development, and the cost being charged to the developer, Silverstone Partner's Inc. The changes would not be made if Silverstone does not receive approval for the project in March from Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority. The agenda item was kept open for future discussion.
Approved unanimously the 2011 wages for election inspectors, non-salary Fire Department personnel, part-time Recreation Department employees, and other part-time employees. The wages will be the same as for 2010.
