MONROE - On Tuesday, Sept. 22, the City of Monroe Common Council:
• Approved $888,976.58 to pay bills.
• Approved special events for Monroe Youth Hockey Chili Cook-off Oct. 2; Monroe High School homecoming parade Oct. 8; and Green County Family YMCA Fall Celebration Social Fundraiser Oct. 23-24.
• Voted 8-2 to grant a temporary fermented malt beverage and wine license to Green County Family YMCA for an outdoor beer garden Oct. 23. Aldermen Charles Koch and Paul Hannes voted against the measure.
• Voted 7-3 to grant a temporary fermented malt beverage license to Monroe Youth Hockey for an outdoor beer garden Oct. 2. Aldermen Koch, Hannes and Jan Lefevre voted against the measure.
