MONROE - An existing local partnership that provides free mobility aid equipment for temporary use has expanded.

For the past several years, those in need of mobility aid equipment have been able to borrow crutches, wheelchairs, walkers, shower stools and other related items free of charge from the Monroe Clinic physical therapy department, made available by the Apostolate to the Handicapped.

Due to recent changes on the Monroe Clinic campus, St. Vincent de Paul will now be holding the equipment. Those needing mobility aid equipment should contact the St. Vincent de Paul store at (608) 329-7837 or visit the store at 501 1st Ave. in Monroe to place an inquiry regarding available equipment or to donate equipment.

Monroe Clinic will continue to make wheelchairs available for customer and visitor use while on the clinic campus.

These and other services are provided free to those with disabilities through a collaboration of Monroe Clinic, St. Vincent de Paul and the Apostolate to the Handicapped.
