MONROE - Two professional actors from Prairie Fire Children's Theatre will perform with 60 students from Monroe Middle School in a 1950s version of "Cinderella" today, Nov. 5.
Performances will be at 2 and 7:30 p.m. at MMS, 1510 13th St. Tickets will be sold at the door for $3 for students and $5 for adults.
This is the 12th year Prairie Fire Children's Theatre has provided a musical theatre residency program at MMS. Ticket fees pay for the cost of the residency.
The professional actors and student actors have been rehearsing since auditions on Tuesday.
Student participants will perform roles as Cinderella, her stepsisters, her cat Dinah, the mice, the cats, the chicks, King Cash and his assistants, Mikey the Rockstar and his band.
MMS performers in the show are Kylie Houston, Elli Erb, Eva Priewe, Anna Meritt, Jaena LeGault, Kaya Teasdale, Bailey Gruber, Kaylin Eminger, Maddisyn Bauman, Michaela Snider, Ruth Tuttle, Ally Schild, Hannah Zweifel, Joie Thuston, Aspen Bader, Kaylee Rule, Kimmie Thuston, Kelsi Babler, Ciara Kaderly, Kennedy Ludwig, Brooke Rowe, Alyssa Sinkule, Cassie McCoy, Sydney Mathiason, Molly Gross, Cassidy Pivonka, Maija Liimatainen, Cierra Thomas, Kyle Tanis, Joe Hauck, Dylan Scace, Korbyn Friske, Carlo Kelley, Quinn Sulejmani, D.J. Gersbach, Dante Colorado, Jarret McNett, Alexis Maxwell, Katelyn Black, Jaiden Walker, Brenna Doherty, Andy Johnson, Scott Senovitz, Elizabeth Grenzow, Selena Sanchez, Meaghan Sweeney, Destiny Kaderly, Sadie Szabelski, and Britt Bruce-Ramos. The stage crew includes Charles Pempilton, December Blum, Gabby Schneider, and Samantha Meyer. The PFCT actor/directors will play the roles of Poppa and Winona the stepmother/fairy godmother (dual role).
The program is supported by MMS, the Monroe Optimist Club, Gasthaus Motel, and the volunteer efforts of Nadine Whiteman, MMS teacher.
