MONROE - This is the season of miracles and Lora Douglas, Albany, hopes someone will want a Miracle to call their own.
In October, Douglas rescued a stray, black kitten that had been shot with an arrow. The kitten, born in the spring, was outside her back door and in serious pain.
Douglas took him in, carefully removed the arrow, and nursed him back to health.
Naturally, she named him "Miracle."
One month later she's impressed and happy to see the progress the little guy has made.
"He's really doing well," she said.
Miracle lives in her garage but he's ready to be adopted, she said. She just needs to find him a loving home.
He'd make a great pet for anyone, she said. He's playful and full of love, she added.
"He's a real sweetheart," she said. "When I sit on the floor, he comes up and sits on my lap. He even tips his head to the side so I can kiss him."
Douglas said she thought he'd be difficult to take care of when she first found him because he was scared and severely injured. After a few weeks, his wound healed and he's proven to be a friendly kitten that just wants to be loved, she said.
He wouldn't require any more care than any other pet cat, she said.
Douglas already has two cats at home and said she wouldn't be able to keep another. She's hoping someone will come forward to adopt him. He is the type of cat that could make a cat-lover happy, she said.
Anyone interested in adopting Miracle can call Douglas at (608) 558-9339.
