MONROE - A flood warning for the Sugar River at Brodhead area remains in effect, and more precipitation is on the way. But this time, it's looking like snow.
The National Weather Services' flood warning continues for the Sugar River at Brodhead until late Friday night. The river was staged at 6.2 feet at 4:15 a.m. Thursday morning. Flood stage is 5 feet. Minor flooding is occurring and is forecasted.
At 6.5 feet, there is widespread flooding of lowlands and agricultural land. Downstream in the Avon Bottoms area of Rock County, there is flooding in Sugar River Park.
Another storm system will impact southern Wisconsin this weekend, with rain and snow possible on Saturday, changing to all snow in most areas before Sunday morning. This system has the potential for accumulation of around 3 inches of a wet, heavy snow.
