MONROE - Monroe Middle School will host an "Afternoon with Le Roy Butler" for the entire Middle School student body from noon until 3:15 p.m. on Thursday.

Butler earned a Super Bowl ring for Super Bowl XXXI, was selected as an All-Pro five times, named Pro Bowl four times, named to the 1990s NFL All Decade Team; and later inducted into the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame in 2007. He will meet with all students throughout the afternoon, in special sessions. Middle School students were challenged by the Club's Choice Fundraising organization to be the top selling school in the state. The prize would be a visit from Butler. Students met the challenge and were informed that they were the winners early in March. Students are encouraged to wear green and gold.

After school, parents and community members are welcome to come to the middle school LMC for a separate signing from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Autographed copies of the "LeRoy Butler Story" will be available for purchase at $30 each during the book signing. Students, parents, and community members are also welcome to bring items for autographing at a cost of $25 per item.
