MONROE - The City of Monroe Board of Public Works and Public Safety Committee accepted a quote from Double G Concrete, Monroe, and authorized the purchase of the MERIT Center cement pads for the live burn tower during a meeting Monday night.
Double G Concrete came in with a bid of $2,120, minus $800 labor to be donated to the project, for a final cost to the MERIT Center fund of $1,320.
Fire Chief Daryl Rausch said the MERIT fund was at $139,000.
The 18 pads will be 48 inches deep, and be installed in the next couple of weeks.
