Memorial Day service will be held May 27 at Mt. Vernon Cemetery

JUDA - A Memorial Day service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, May 27 at Mt. Vernon Cemetery.

The program will begin with the Juda Fire Department raising the flag at the central flag pole followed by the Juda Boy Scouts leading the audience in the Pledge of the Allegiance. The Juda Middle School Choir will sing "The Star Spangled Banner" followed by the middle school band playing "Salute to America."

A tribute to the memory of Morris Grenzow, a World War II veteran, will be presented.

Rev. Vicki Brantmeyer, pastor of the Juda Zion United Methodist Church, will give the main address. Kurt Jordan and John Walters, both veterans, will read the names of all deceased veterans from the Juda area. The middle school band will then play "This Is My Country."

Veteran Jerry Adkins will conclude the program by laying a wreath on the memorial of unknown veterans, followed by a salute by the VFW Drill Team and Taps being sounded with a benediction by Brantmeyer.

The program will be held at Juda School in case of inclement weather.
