Memorial Day Events
All area Memorial Day events are scheduled for Monday, May 27:
ALBANY- 10:30 a.m., Memorial Day parade with services at the bridge.
ARGYLE - 11 a.m., ceremony at the American Legion Park, followed by lunch, hosted by the American Legion Auxiliary, at the school. (Rain location: Argyle School.)
BELLEVILLE - 10 a.m., program at the Belleville Junior/Senior High School at 625 W. Church St.
BLANCHARDVILLE - 9 a.m., parade along Main Street to bridge at Pecatonica River, followed by services at the American Legion.
BRODHEAD - 9 a.m., parade from 12th Street at Veterans Memorial Park to cemetery on E. 9th Avenue, followed by a ceremony.
BROWNTOWN - 1 to 3 p.m., Browntown Museum featuring the original Browntown jail season opening. Free.
DARLINGTON - 9:30 a.m., parade along Wisconsin 23 from Veterans Memorial Park near the Courthouse to the Pecatonica River and return route, followed by a program at Darlington Area Veterans Memorial. In case of rain, program will be held at Dora Ritter Wellness Center Gym.
GRATIOT - 10 a.m., program in Gratiot Park located along the Cheese Country Trail at the north end of Main Street.
GREEN COUNTY - 1:30 p.m., veterans' memorial ceremony at Green County Veterans Memorial Park, Wis. 81 and County N.
JUDA - 10 a.m., program at Mt. Vernon Cemetery on County S north of Juda. (Rain location: Juda School)
n MONROE - 6 a.m., raising of the flags on "Avenue of Flags." 7 a.m., graves decorated with memorial wreaths at Greenwood Cemetery. 9 a.m., parade from Recreation Park to Greenwood Cemetery, followed by a program, including a roll call of recently deceased Green County veterans and the American Legion and VFW firing squad.
MONTICELLO - 1 p.m., Monticello Veterans Memorial dedication and program at Montesian Gardens, along Wis. 69, followed by refreshments at Barnaby's Monticello House downtown.
NEW GLARUS - 9:30 a.m., Stuessy-Kuenzi American Legion Memorial Parade starts at the village hall; 10 a.m. program at the elementary schools; 10:30 a.m. program and dedication of a Korean War/Civil War/War of 1812/Spanish American War at the New Glarus Veterans Park across from the elementary schools.
