MONROE - The Monroe Memorial Day events have been announced for Monday.
Flags will be raised on the "Avenue of Flags" at 6 a.m. Grave decorating with memorial wreaths will follow at 7 a.m. Assembly will meet at the Cemetery monument.
Parade units will assemble at Recreation Park at 8:30 a.m. The parade commences at 9 a.m. at Recreation Park.
Introductions by American Legion Commander, Dennis Swank, is set for 9:30 a.m. Invocation will be by Pastor Dan Krahenbuhl, followed by Logan's Orders by Eric Vale and the Gettysburg Address by April Buri
The Monroe High School Band, directed by Dan Hinkle, will be in charge of musical selections.
George Wells will give the Memorial Day address, followed by roll call of deceased veterans of Green County by John Daehlin
The placing of wreaths on Veteran's Memorial will be done by Daisy, Brownie, and Girl Scouts; Cadet and Senior Girl Scouts; Cub and Boy Scouts; American Legion Auxiliary Poppy Princess Katelynn Isely and the Junior Unit of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 84; Sons of the American Legion Post 84 and Advisor, Ernie Gebhardt, Dustin Burkhalter; American Legion Auxiliary Unit 84 President Pat Sanders and Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary Unit 2312 President Sheryl Tschudy; and American Legion Post 84 Commander Dennis Swank and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2312 Commander Jeff Perkins.

The Memorial Day service will conclude with "Taps" by the Monroe High School Band and the benediction by Pastor Dan Krahenbuhl.
A potluck dinner is set for noon at the American Legion post home. The "Avenue of Flags" will be taken down at 3 p.m.
